Raison d’être
This site serves as a collection of my interests including photography, woodcarving, sharpening and other various topics. Of these interests photography will be the most abundant.
My photography is undertaken primarily to draw attention to places, structures and ideas that are slowly fading from modern existence.
Time marches endlessly on and humans try to stay in lock step. As that happens, we are not able to bring our possessions with us unaltered. For in the future, they may need to be different or not be needed at all.
I seek to recognize and draw attention to those things that can’t come forward on our journey. The hope is that the photographs will serve to document the things being left behind and lost.
The photographs will primarily feature places and structures in Minnesota, but will from time to time include photographs of my travels to other states as well. The tale being told in Minnesota is representative of the tale being told elsewhere.
Additionl info for the reader. Meta Data is data describing data. As such I have tried to name the files of places with information about them. Typically the format used is state-county-city-zip.html making a url in the format of https://fadinginandout.com/state-county-city-zipcode.html. This will give the reader a bit of information if I don't include such in the actual web page about each place.
